Raging Stallion Signs Brodie Sinclair to Exclusive Contract

San Francisco porn-powerhouse Raging Stallion Studios today announce the signing of Brodie Sinclair to a long-term exclusive model contract. Sinclair, who also has used the name Derek Brodie, became a sensation through his appearances on web-based porn sites. His feature role in Longboard (Falcon Studios) cemented his status as a superstar. Topic #1: The DVD Crisis Debunked!
Several newspapers (including the New York Times) have had recent articles about the decline of porn DVD sales as more and more consumers shift to the internet. Many gay production companies have had actual sales collapses, so much so that some fear that the industry is on the brinkof a major shakeup with several big companies on the verge of crisis. This common perception notwithstanding, our experience here at RSS is major growth in both Web and DVD sales.In fact, compared to the same period last year (January thru May), our hard copy DVD sales have grown by over 30%. Even comparing months in 2007 alone sales are still rising at a 30% rate. May of this year was the highest hard copy sales month in Raging Stallion History! It was also a record month for internet VOD income--so both formats are stampeding forward at breakneck speed.

How many copies of movies do top studios sell? A movie is performing well when it hits 3,000 total units. It is a hit when it passes 5,000 units. It is a blockbuster when it exceeds 10,000 units. Note that this is based on new releases every 10 days and new movies tend to steal thunder from past releases. Arabesque, or top film for 2006, is still going strong with over 24,000 units sold.

The VOD business is getting to the point where push comes to shove. The market is very, very competitive and studios are lining up behind one or the other of the two main providers (Naked Sword / AEBN on the one side and Maleflixxx on the other. Naked Sword seems to be on a roll, having just signed our studio and Titan. They also have exclusive contracts with Colt and Falcon. Maleflixxx counts Hot House and Kristen Bjorn as its top studios. Will there be room for two major companies--especially with Gay Hot Movies moving into a strong third position? My own experience with all of these players has been good--but Naked Sword / AEBN now seems to be the most innovative and compensative of the bunch. Topic #4: Just In from the RSS Sound Stages!
Our shooting crew has been working at half speed this past month, taking a break in anticipation of a pretty tough shooting schedule for the rest of summer. Even so, we have several major films in production and the cameras have been rolling! One of the high points over the past month was the scene between Brodie Sinclair and Roman Ragazzi--let me tell you it was a real honor to direct such top-notch
stars. This scene will be released next year as part of my Manifesto / Instinct series of films. Another great shoot was had between RSS exclusive Steve Cruz and a new discovery named Logan. Logan is one of the most stunning men around--covered in tribal tattoos. He and Steve looked great together in this first scene shot under the direction of Jake Deckard for our new all-tattoo movie (to be released
in December). Steve was excellent in the scene and has become a Man of the Year contender!

But the most over-the-top scene we filmed was for a fetish flick--we had Ty Hudson and Jake Deckard together for a sounding, catheter fuck scene. It is way too gruesome to describe here, but suffice it to say that Ty had a medical catheter shoved all the way down his cock while being fucked vigorously by Mr. Jake. Piss was flying and cum was spurting...it must be seen to be understood!

Topic # 5: News from Centurion Pictures
JD Slater's new muscle flick, CM4: Erotikus, will be out in a few weeks. The movie just came out of edit and looks like another hit for the GayVN Hall of Fame director. (BTW, Raging Stallion is the only studio with three active hall of fame directors--JD, myself, and Michael Brandon). Starring Jake Deckard, Xerxes, Brock Hatcher, Erik Hunter, Trey Casteel, Shane Alexander, Hank Dutch, Brendan Davies, and Huessein, this is the biggest Centurion Muscle movie yet! Jake Deckard (who is our current Man of the Year) did much of the edit on this film. As a special bonus feature, JD has included "Army of Lovers," a new music piece from his up-coming CD, "Western Skies and Eyes of Blue." Watch for both of these new offerings in the next few weeks.
