About Dark Alley
Hello Everyone-- I just got a letter from attorneys representing Dark Alley Media, the New York hardcore video company. They have asked me to remove a recent blog entry and to publish a retraction and apologize for "incorrect and libelous statements" relating to Dark Alley. First off, my blog is only my opinion. I publish not only what I see going on at Raging Stallion, but also I comment on what is going on in our industry. As head of Raging Stallion, I am one of the leaders in our industry and I am often sought out to offer opinions and views about a wide range of subjects. At no time, however, would I want my comments to hurt anyone or cause financial hardship. If my comments about Dark Alley (now since removed) caused any distress of any kind, I am very sorry. Dark Alley has made it clear that I was not correct in my blog entry so here is the retraction and a new statement of facts relating to each and every one of the items that raised their ire: 1. Dark Alley is not in any financial difficulty whatsoever. 2. Dark Alley is setting up shop in Europe as part of a significant expansion of its company. 3. Dark Alley is not bouncing checks to former employees. 4. Dark Alley would never release a bareback move. As many of you know, I do sell Dark Alley movies at GayDVD.com. Lets all keep an eye out for their new releases and see what the future brings.
Steve Cruz's Beard Blog
Raging Stallion Exclusive Steve Cruz has been keeping busy... since returning from the set of Grunts he's been a regular trooper editing his behind the scenes feature which he shot entirely by himself with his Sony Handycam.  It has been a very busy week here at Raging Stallion Studios. We all just got back from our big GRUNTS shoot, and I have been editing full steam on what looks to be the movie of the year. But more about that in future updates!  We have been shooting full tilt here in SF all week, with Jake Deckard taking on his first solo directing project for his new video line, Screaming Eagle Pictures. His first release will be Ink Storm, a tattoo-focused film that he has been working on for the past four months. Jake, ever the eager filmmaker, is even editing the movie himself! He filmed the movie's final two scenes this week--one between Tober Brandt (a new RSS exclusive) and longtime RSS player Corey Koons. The scene went very well, shot at a local tattoo parlor. The second scene was one between Tamas Eszterhazy (his first film since Mirage) and new RSS exclusive Ricky Sinz. This one was  filmed in a leather bar and was a real showstopper (every scene with Ricky Sinz is a showstopper!!). Previous scenes in the movie include parings between RSS Boy Wonder Steve Cruz and world-renowned tattoo man Logan, and another with Jake Deckard and Logan. One of the most amazing things about this movie is a scene showing Montaz Morgan jerking off while having his dick tattooed! Look for Jake Deckard's Ink Storm in September. Congrats Jake! Speaking of Jake, this guy (who is also our Man of The Year--at least for another few weeks!) is really on a roll. He has now made the transition to a full-scale film director while at the same time reaching the highpoint of his video career! His performance in GRUNTS is a clear contender for Best Actor.  We also have been shooting a new Bar movie--called " Bar Back." It is a Ben Leon production and after the first two shoots, it looks like another winner. Superstar Tamaz Eszterhazy had a great scene with new exclusive Antonio Biaggi (the biggest dick in porn, BTW). Ben also filmed Ricky Sinz and Max Schutler--and that one was as good as it gets!  The S/M department is in full swing as well, with both sounding and flogging scenes being shot in the coming weeks, and then we are on the road again for a big Monster Bang shoot under the direction of Michael Brandon. Immediately coming up is the Folsom Street Fair, which is the time and place of our Man of The Year announcement. Who will succeed Jake Deckard as the Studio's top star? There are a number of contenders this year--we have about 15 exclusive models under contract right now, and all of them are spectacular men. About two years ago I looked at the stable of Raging Stallion Stars and wondered how we could possibly improve the quality of our talent--and I can say that as of today, our team of stars has never been better!
News Update from Pornoland!!!
August is usually a quiet time of year in the porn world, but this month is really full of stories. Lots of stuff crosses my desk, much of which I can't talk about because I don't want to get all the other studio heads pissed off at me, but sometimes I just can't resist. Here are some of the bits and pieces I have been hearing about over the past weeks:
Item One: GRUNTS MAY BE THE MOVIE OF THE YEARNow that Team Raging Stallion is back in the office and can reflect on the thirty or so scenes shot for GRUNTS, the general consensus is that this project may very well be a strong contender for Movie of the Year. We recently decided to move the release date from January to December to qualify for this year's awards cycle. GRUNTS is by far the biggest porn project in the past five years, and the footage looks like it may be the best Raging Stallion has ever produced. Watch everywhere for news on this movie over the next 6 months.
Item Two: Established Retails Shops Going UnderNews will be hitting in a few weeks that some major porn stores will be going out of business soon. The biggest of these is Movie Gallery, which boasts some 4,000 plus stores. They have not been big porn buyers lately, but word in XBiz magazine is that they are in real financial difficulty. Smaller shops around the nation are also on the verge of going under owing to the growth of internet delivery systems and the usual summer slowdown. August is like the Sargasso sea for porn shops--if a company is going out of business, it usually happens in August when income from customers is at a yearly low.
Item Three: RSS Increases ProductionWhile DVD sales continue to fall for most porn companies, Raging Stallion boasted another milestone in July--it was the second largest month in the company's history with DVD sales hitting record numbers. To keep up with the rapidly growing demand for Raging Stallion product, production has been increased so that starting August 1 the studio will be on a 50 movie per year release schedule--one movie every week. For the fall schedule there are no planned releases for Thanksgiving or Christmas weeks. Other than these two holidays, RSS will put out a film every seven days for the rest of the year.
Raging Stallion Signs Five New Exclusives

Raging Stallion Studios, just back from its sixteen-day GRUNTS shoot, has signed five new exclusive models to appear in print and film over the next twelve months. The winners in this round of the exclusive sweepstakes are Tober Brandt, Ricky Sinz, RJ Danvers, Luke Hass, and Antonio Biaggi.  Tober Brandt, an actor with built-in star power, joins Raging Stallion after a multi-year contract with another studio. His talents will be used primarily as the foundation for the impending expansion of JD Slater's Centurion Pictures division of the company. Slater plans to increase production to as many as six films per year, responding to the growing demand for his Muscle Bear focused movies.  Ricky Sinz, one of Chicago's hottest hunks, has had a career in straight and bisexual porn. He is 100% bisexual and enjoys sex with men as much as with women. He served many years in the military, experience which he brought into play during the grueling GRUNTS shoot. Ricky played one of the sergeants (along with Jake Deckard and Roman Ragazzi) who made life miserable for the new recruits brought in for filming! Ricky has an elegantly tattooed body and will be featured in Ink Storm, RSS's new tattoo movie scheduled for a September release.  RJ Danvers, a hairy 18-year-old Abercrombie and Fitch kind of guy, was eager to work with Raging Stallion. He told director Chris Ward that his entire DVD collection was made up of RSS movies! Danvers performed like a pro during his first scenes (in GRUNTS), and Ward was quick to sign him. "RJ is going to have a great career ahead of him--he reminds me of a young Mark Evrett or Cliff Parker!" A total bottom, RJ has one of the finest hairy asses in the biz--watch this star explode over the coming months.  Luke Hass was another of the GRUNTS recruits who stood out from the pack as a stellar performer. Luke boasts not only great looks (he should be doing some fashion modeling), but he also as a tight body and a great big dick. He looked great topping Roman Ragazzi and delivered the goods in as many as four more scenes in GRUNTS (GRUNTS is a 30-scene super-movie).  Puerto Rican Antonio Biaggi was discovered by Collin O'Neal on a recent trip to the Caribbean. Collin sent word out to hire this man ASAP, so we did! Antonio is a new Ricky Martinez--his cock is by far the largest one in porn today (an honest 12 incher) that stands rock hard as soon as he sees an ass to fuck. Antonio was a delight to work with on GRUNTS, and the only problem we foresee is finding him bottoms who can actually take his throbbing cock. Raging Stallion has long had a large stable of exclusive stars to support the high level of ongoing production at the studio. Raging Stallion will release 40 movies this year, making the San Francisco-based studio the largest in the industry. Studio head Chris Ward recently announced plans to rev up production to 50 movies per year--one film per week. Ward was enthusiastic about the growth of Raging Stallion over the past two years. "Our DVD sales are growing at a startling rate--we expect a 40 percent increase over 2006 this year. Our retail stores and our own customers are demanding more product, so we feel that we can expand production to allow for one movie per week. That requires lots of active porn stars, which means we need to keep as many as fifteen to twenty men on exclusive contracts."
GRUNTS: Back in San Francisco!
 Hey Everyone-- We are back in San Francisco after a very, very successful GRUNTS shoot. We ran into a few problems in the final days, but they have all been resolved. Seems like our army base looked so real from the air that local authorities worried that we might be a group of right-wing white supremacists training for misadventure! They soon found out otherwise and everything was settled on the spot. Our filming resumed one hour later with the promise of sending one of the deputies a copy of the movie! Our final days of shooting were excellent, both nights featuring Dominic Pacifico as a star bottom. His first scene was shot on our Jeep, his top being none other than Ricky Sinz, our new first-rate exclusive. Ricky brought his filthy mouth into play as only he can, and Dominic gave us another of his stellar performances. These men were really engaged and it shows on film! The next night, Rafael Alencar and Luke Hass (who also signed a contract with us) fucked Dominic at the base rec hall. Talk about big dicks! Between Luke and Rafael we had almost twenty inched to work with! Dominic took it well, and this probably will go down as one of the best scenes of the shoot. Another scene we shot in the final days was between newcomer Jay Mack and Aaron Summers. This scene also featured about twenty inches of cock, but only Aaron topped. Jay performed beautifully in his first-ever scene, his shimmering blue-black body glistening in the light, looking damn near perfect. Now that the principal photography on GRUNTS is finished, I can look back and say that this was the most successful shoot of my career, and GRUNTS is going to be a contender for the top film of 2007. When edited, it will have six discs and nearly 30 full sex scenes (a record for any single movie). To say that GRUNTS is the movie of my career, is not an overstatement. It really is the military movie to end all military movies! We returned with almost 100 hours of footage (some of which are for the three special features that we filmed). We served over 1200 meals, housed as many as 30 men per night over the nearly three weeks on set, played host to journalists from every major magazine and news organization, signed five new exclusives, and made many, many friends. I would be remiss if I did not offer special thanks to all of the actors who put up with a tough shoot schedule under grueling conditions (including an hour or two of B-roll at noon every day!). These men worked as hard as our production crew did to make GRUNTS as good as possible. It is my hope that they will be reward by being able to say that they were in one of the top gay erotic projects of all time. I am taking the weekend off!  Due to several difficult issues, there is no chriswardpornblog update for today. We will be posting an official company statement about today's developments in the coming days. GRUNTS - Men At War!!!
  Team Raging Stallion witnessed a real war when the powerful combination of Trey Casteel, Ricky Sinz, and RSS Man-of-the-Year Jake Deckard came together on a mess table at the Base Rec Center. We all knew how the battle would turn out--two sergeants vs. one private! The energy of this scene was startling--almost scary. As the scene unfolded, everyone from crew to actors got caught up in an adrenaline rush and what ensued will go down as one of the most violent acts we have ever caught on tape. As the action revved up, with Trey urging his two tops to a level of brutality that mimicked full-scale rape, everyone watched, mesmerized. Normally Raging Stallion shies away from outright brutality. Our S/M scenes are all about endorphins and mutual satisfaction. Some other companies often film degradation and humiliation as part of their S/M lines--I am not saying either is right or wrong, but the energy we have at Raging Stallion is not about violence. Until now! You really have to see this to believe it.  Jake Deckard is giving the performance of his career as Sgt. Houle. His portrayal of a mean and nasty drill sergeant will certainly garner him best actor nominations at award shows next year. In all of my years of directing, I have never encountered a performance like the one he is giving. Jake has become his character--living the role 24/7.  Sergeant Houle is a complicated role. He is tough and brutal, exhibiting some of the common boot camp, bad-ass attitude that has become a stereotype in modern culture. His motivation, however, is to train these guys so that they can survive--it is the ultimate example of tough love. In return, the GRUNTS hate his guts. They view him as their tormentor, not as their salvation. In an environment that gives Houle no positive feedback, he has to draw on his inner strength to keep going. His is a cycle of bitterness, anger, and compassion, with the latter repressed to near invisibility. As a director it has been a challenge to bring out these many facets. One scene we shot last night--Houle alone on his cot reflecting on his job--demonstrated to me that Jake Deckard is one of the finest actors in porn today.  Last night we also shot another show-stopper scene, this one between Dominic Pacifico and Ricky Sinz. The setting was at night on our WWII army jeep. Moonlight provided a backlight as the two men engaged each other in carnal delight! Dominic is a power bottom and Ricky is a power top. Together they created enough friction to set the base on fire! Three great fuck positions, filmed and directed by Ben Leon, show us everything we want to see.  One of the most rewarding things about this GRUNTS shoot is the fact that every single scene has gone off without a hitch. Today is the last day of filming, and so far we have shot almost 25 scenes, each and every one of them first class erotica. I have not felt this good about a movie since Arabesque, two years ago. For me, as head of Raging Stallion Studios, the best thing is that the successful conclusion of principal photography on GRUNTS means that Raging Stallion will remain a top studio for the next few years.
