Raging Stallion Takes Top Honors at XBiz Awards for 2009!

San Francisco-based porn powerhouse Raging Stallion Studios took top honors at the recent XBiz Awards which were held on Friday in Hollywood. Directors Ben Leon, Tony Dimarco, and Chris Ward took the prize of Best Director and To The Last Man, the studio's blockbuster cowboy movie, won Best Picture.

To The Last Man is the season's top movie and one of the biggest hits in recent years, outselling all other titles by a substantial margin. The film, which was shot in the wilds of Arizona, has caused significant controversy because of the violent nature of the plot. Some have called it "Tarantino Porn."

"We are really thrilled by these wins," said company president Chris Ward. "I think that this is the first time that three big name directors have worked together successfully on a single project. To The Last Man would not have been the movie it was without all three of us on the project. It is very exciting to be part of what is arguably one of the best production teams in the history of our industry."

Ward also noted that To The Last Man was produced at a time when large projects are on the wane. No other studio produced a blockbuster in 2008, an indication of both tough economic times and of basic changes in the industry that have placed a premium on simple, web-friendly, cheaper productions. "We were very concerned about the ability of To The Last Man to make a profit," Ward observed. "We spent a fortune making this movie--not even counting the time and physical effort. The fact that the movie is selling very, very well is reassuring."

Raging Stallion has committed to making another major blockbuster for the 2009 fall season, this time a Film Noir style sex-crime drama that takes place in San Francisco. "Tony, Ben, and I love old 1940s film noir movies, so we all look forward to taking a crack at that genre," said Ward. "San Francisco was the backdrop for most of the great noirs of the 1940s, so we think we can take advantage of our location here in the city--indeed, San Francisco will be one of the stars of this movie." Raging Stallion will be announcing casting for the Noir in the upcoming months. Principal photography is set to commence in June.
