Raging Stallion Merges with AEBN

San Francisco porn powerhouse Raging Stallion Studios today announced that it has completed a merger with Charlotte-based AEBN, a combination that joins one of the leading gay erotic production companies with the top VOD force in the industry. Raging Stallion’s sister company, Pistol Media, is also part of the merger, making for what is the largest consolidation of gay companies to date. Pistol’s Gunzblazing program will anchor the newly merged affiliate operations, which in conjunction with Naked Sword, will offer customers, stores, and web affiliates a wealth of new opportunities to prosper during troubling economic times.

“We have been negotiation the terms of this merger for some time,” commented RSS President Chris Ward. “It has been a long courtship, but over this extended period we learned that we work together very well and that we all contribute different assets that together form a very powerful team. We look forward to working with the AEBN team and being part of an amazing new company. We are excited about taking Raging Stallion to the next level!”

Raging Stallion has long been one of the top gay studios, sweeping last year’s GayVNS and other award events with the epic film GRUNTS. This year the studio’s top picture, To The Last Man, has been singled out for a record number of nominations. Raging Stallion has also been one of the few studios to buck the general downward trend in sales. Indeed, the studio continues to grow month after month and now produces a very large percentage of all high-end product available on the market. “The beauty of this merger, “ noted Ward, “is that it is between very successful companies---this is not a defensive consolidation, but rather an opportunity for several excellent companies to come together. "

Raging Stallion will continue to produce films as it always has—the entire staff and management team remains in place. Expansion plans include increasing operations at the AEBN offices in Argentina, and producing more content for the AEBN and Naked Sword networks.

Raging Stallion Takes Top Honors at XBiz Awards for 2009!

San Francisco-based porn powerhouse Raging Stallion Studios took top honors at the recent XBiz Awards which were held on Friday in Hollywood. Directors Ben Leon, Tony Dimarco, and Chris Ward took the prize of Best Director and To The Last Man, the studio's blockbuster cowboy movie, won Best Picture.

To The Last Man is the season's top movie and one of the biggest hits in recent years, outselling all other titles by a substantial margin. The film, which was shot in the wilds of Arizona, has caused significant controversy because of the violent nature of the plot. Some have called it "Tarantino Porn."

"We are really thrilled by these wins," said company president Chris Ward. "I think that this is the first time that three big name directors have worked together successfully on a single project. To The Last Man would not have been the movie it was without all three of us on the project. It is very exciting to be part of what is arguably one of the best production teams in the history of our industry."

Ward also noted that To The Last Man was produced at a time when large projects are on the wane. No other studio produced a blockbuster in 2008, an indication of both tough economic times and of basic changes in the industry that have placed a premium on simple, web-friendly, cheaper productions. "We were very concerned about the ability of To The Last Man to make a profit," Ward observed. "We spent a fortune making this movie--not even counting the time and physical effort. The fact that the movie is selling very, very well is reassuring."

Raging Stallion has committed to making another major blockbuster for the 2009 fall season, this time a Film Noir style sex-crime drama that takes place in San Francisco. "Tony, Ben, and I love old 1940s film noir movies, so we all look forward to taking a crack at that genre," said Ward. "San Francisco was the backdrop for most of the great noirs of the 1940s, so we think we can take advantage of our location here in the city--indeed, San Francisco will be one of the stars of this movie." Raging Stallion will be announcing casting for the Noir in the upcoming months. Principal photography is set to commence in June.

Raging Stallion Dominates GayVN Nominations for Second Year in a Row!

Dateline San Francisco 9 February 2009

San Francisco Erotic Powerhouse Raging Studios solidified its place at the top of the gay porn pyramid by taking 51 GayVN nominations, more than any other studio and smashing all records for the industry. Fourteen separate Raging Stallion movies were nominated for awards this year, another industry record. To The Last Man, the biggest gay film of the year, took more nominations than any other
single film, garnering nods for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Videography, Best Music, Best Editing, and many others. To The Last Man was co-directed by Chris Ward, Ben Leon, and Tony DiMarco--three of the industry's top talents. Shot in the mountains of northern Arizona, To The Last Man is the single most lavish movie produced this year, ranking with GRUNTS and Arabesque as one of Raging Stallion's top films. The movie has become controversial because of the level of violence and envelope-pushing sex that unfolds over the six hour running time.

Ricky Sinz and Scott Tanner share the lead in To The Last Man, and both were singled out for their superlative performances, which some reviewers have described as Hollywood-level performances. Logan McCree, for his role in The Drifter, was also given a Best Actor nomination. Both McCree and Sinz are also nominated for Performer of the Year, as is RSS exclusive Steve Cruz. Vinnie D'Angelo was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Drifter.

Raging Stallion's groundbreaking Blu-ray features were also singled out for nomination, as were Jake Deckard as best director for his Jock Itch series. Steve Hunt was nominated for Best Foreign actor for his role in High Octane's Masters and Servants--a movie which also was nominated for best Foreign Release. Exclusives RJ Danvers and Damien Rios were nominated for best Newcomer. Ben Leon's The 4th Floor was nominated for Best All Sex film and Gavin Lowe's Testosterone was nominated for Best Latin film. Big, Bigger,Biggest was nominated for Best Leather film, and the studio had two nominates in the Best Fetish Category. JD Slater's Centurion Muscle5: Maximus was nominated in the Best Bear category.

"I am very grateful to the GayVN judges for these nominations," said Chris Ward, President of the studio. "We have had a great year, and to be able to follow last years GRUNTS with another blockbuster hit that has received so much positive commentary is very exciting for all of us here at Raging Stallion." Ward also noted that Raging Stallion had more than one nomination in most categories. "I hope we don't split our vote!!! Having so many nominations duplicated in many categories really shows that our quality is very thick--almost every movie we made this year got nominated."
