Raging Stallion Sweeps the 2009 Grabby Awards!
San Francisco, May 26, 2009
Raging Stallion swept the 2009 Grabby Awards, but in a dramatic surprise, this time it was the romantic love story The Drifter that came out on top winning Best Picture of the year. The Drifter garnered four top honors at the event including Best Duo Sex Scene with real life boyfriends Logan McCree and Vinnie D’Angelo, who met on the set of the film. Logan McCree also won for Best Actor, and Tony Dimarco won for Best Videography. This was Tony Dimarco's first major project for Raging Stallion Studios and was filmed in the lush forests of northern California.
Raging Stallion’s To The Last Man, the film the swept the 2009 GAYVN Awards, also walked away with top honors including Scott Tanner for Best Supporting Actor, Damien Crosses for Best Solo, and the hard-core rape scene with Logan McCree, Ricky Sinz and Scott Tanner won Best Three-Way. Directors Chris Ward, Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco did not go unnoticed, winning the coveted Best Director prize for the western epic. Other awards winners that night included Antonio Biaggi for Hottest Cock and Steve Cruz for “Best Porn star Website” stevecruzxxx.com. Steve Cruz was also named one of the Performers of the Year.
Chris Ward, who was vacationing in Vienna when the awards were announced, wired “I’m extremely proud of my team of talented performers and directors. It’s been a great year for us and it shows the all the hard work paid off. I am amazed that we won Best Picture this year for Two different movies! It shows the depth of our quality." This is the first time in gay porn history where one studio has won Best Picture for two different movies in the same year.
The Drifter was a very different film from To The Last Man--whereas the western epic was controversial for its unabashed violence--all but one of the characters are killed in the movie--The Drifter is a romantic love story. The chemistry on the set was excellent and McCree and D'Angelo have just celebrated their one year anniversary as real life boyfriends. They fell in love shooting this film. McCree co-authored the story and said at the time of shooting that the plot of the movie (a guy wandering thru the woods and coming across a cabin with a hot stud inside!) was one of his all time fantasies. In The Drifter, Logan's fantasy actually became his reality!
